Pretreatment equipment mainly consists of a multi-medium filter, active carbon filter, soften filter and precise filter. It is used to protect the following systems: ultra filtration, reverse osmosis and ion exchange. The multi-medium filter is used to reduce the turbidity by filtering out suspended solids, organic colloids and heavy metal ions such as Fe and Mn.
Diverse forms of filter material, i.e. quartz sand, anthracite, active carbon, manganese sand, etc. can be used to fill the multi-medium filter. These filters containing a single type of filter material can be used in a series to eliminate various impurities in the water thereby protecting the reverse osmosis and ion exchange systems following it.
The activated carbon filter is mainly used to absorb chlorine and organic materials. It is filled with granular activated carbon made from hulls.

The soften filter is mainly used to absorb calcium and magnesium in the water. It can protect the ultra filtration and reverse osmosis systems availably. It is filled with the cation resin.
The precise filter is used to eliminate the tiny impurities and cracked
cation resin. It is usually filled with 5μm PP filter elements.
