ION EXCHANGER
The ion exchanger is used to remove all the anions and cations in the water. There are three kinds of ion exchangers: anion exchanger, cation exchanger; and 3) mixed bed ion exchanger.

The cation exchanger is mainly used to soften raw water and allow reverse osmosis or electro deionization systems to operate efficiently.

The mixed bed ion exchanger is used for deep desalination after reverse osmosis. It is gradually being replaced by electro deionization equipment as its disadvantages include chemical pollution and complex operation.
